Final Count: 656 tattoos
We didn't make the record - but we gained so much more than we ever anticipated. We had no way of knowing how moving and emotional this day would be. Not only was it truly incredible meeting survivors, fighters and supporters and hearing your stories and watching your excitement and nervousness as you talked about getting a tattoo - but seeing Kaos actually bring healing through his art. We saw weeping - laughter - witnessed people cheering each other on. Women and men, young and old - for a brief moment in time, we were ALL in this together. We were all one - working toward a common goal and putting down our walls and boundaries and sharing a part of ourselves with one another. This was a once and a lifetime experience. We are all truly humbled.
Thanks goes out to Kaos and his IMPECCABLE and dedicated team: His apprentices, Vinnie and Cherry, and his girlfriend Tracy, who all tirelessly worked to ensure that Kaos had what he needed the exact moment he needed it. Damien, put stencils on each and every one of you. And to his friend Patrick that recorded the entire 24-hour event and set up the live feed that many of you enjoyed.
Thanks also goes out to Jeremy Hydle, owner of P66 Tattoo. His team consisted of not only friends, but his family. His apprentices Corinne and Shanime kicked butt getting each person in the chair and prepped and ready for Kaos. His sisters, Jessica and Sheila; his wife, Mary; his brother, Greg; father, Les; cousin, Cara and friend, Tim worked the tables getting waivers signed, helping Kaos glove up and ink the machines, doing whatever needed to get done.
Thanks goes to the heroes of the day that brought us food and water. That ran errands and brought us gloves when we were running low. That volunteered to clean chairs and help glove Kaos because they saw we needed a break. The ones that waited in line for 8 hours for their tattoo. The cheerers. The huggers. The orgasm scream girl. The criers. The comedians. Thank you all. You WILL be seeing us again!
